The area encompassing the Jackson Hill Main Street Special Improvement District (JHMSSID) is comprised of Martin Luther King Dr. (formerly Jackson Avenue) & Monticello Avenues, premiere shopping districts in the City of Jersey City; in its heyday. The residents could find everything to meet their shopping needs. It is with the splendor of yesterday in mind that members of the business community and residents have worked tirelessly to form the Jackson Hill Main Street Special Improvement District (JHMSSID) to recapture the vitality of the shopping district and harness the economic power of its community. The revitalization of this portion of the city has been a dream deferred; however under the stewardship of the JHMSSID's Board of Trustees you will once again witness clean safe streets, the emergence of new and varied businesses, family and live entertainment, and dining.
